Now Open: STREAM Grants RFP – Apply by September 1
MIT Sea Grant supports small coastal and marine related projects through our STREAM Grants program – Solutions Through Research, Education & Art in Massachusetts.
MIT Sea Grant is now accepting proposals for the STREAM Grant program, open to a diversity of Massachusetts applicants. STREAM Grants support innovative projects that align with MIT Sea Grant’s Strategic Plan, including:
- Educational initiatives that connect classrooms and communities with coastal/marine science and engineering
- Small research projects aligned with MIT Sea Grant’s coastal and marine focus areas
- Seed funding for innovative efforts in art, education, industry, outreach, or research
- Rapid response projects that advance areas of emerging interest or address a challenge
- Student support to expand independent or class projects
Do you have an idea you’d like to discuss? We’d like to hear from you!
- Submit a STREAM Interest Form if you’d like to meet with us to discuss your project. We welcome proposals from faculty and students at MA universities, P-12 educators, individuals and artists working with museums and nonprofits, and many others!

Important dates and details:
- Grants up to $9,999 (50% match)
- Request eSeaGrant access by August 31, 2023 at 5pm ET
- Apply by September 1, 2023 at 5pm ET
- Projects during this STREAM cycle must occur between November 1, 2023 and July 31, 2024. (Note: The fall 2024 RFP will return to a 1-year project period.)
