Gain hands-on field experience in new MechE course: Coastal Ecology for Engineers 2.S993
Combining lectures and hands-on experiences in labs and field, participants will examine the ecology of coastal systems and explore technological challenges for studying them. With climate change, sea level rise, and the continued growth of human populations and infrastructure in coastal zones, there is an increasing need for coastal engineers with an interdisciplinary knowledge of the complex and changing conditions at the land-ocean interface. By the end of this course, participants will be able to recognize typical coastal communities and their major environmental drivers, examples of ecological services that these communities provide us, and common impacts that human growth and climate change are having on them. For more more information:Coastal Ecology for Engineers 2.S993
