In this project, researchers are deriving basic hydrodynamic scaling laws and control and actuation mechanisms of fast-starting and rapidly maneuvering fish. By mapping out the basic mechanisms of fast starting, the investigators will be able to assess the impact on fish energetics and provide valuable input to control, sensing and hydrodynamic procedures for use in engineering applications.AUV
