Lindsey Williams is a social scientist with the Marine Advisory Services group at the MIT Sea Grant College Program. Her current research focuses broadly on the use of science in policy and management related to coastal and ocean systems, with a focus on negotiation, dispute resolution, and the role of stakeholder engagement. Lindsey spent nearly ten years with the NOAA National Ocean Service in several roles primarily focused on policy, budget, and communication around coastal management and science and is also a PhD candidate at the University of New Hampshire. Lindsey’s research portfolio at MIT seek to better understand the perspectives of a range of coastal communities and stakeholders and how social and natural science can be used together to address pressing community needs.
