Jacob Film
Program Engineer
Jacob joined MIT Sea Grant in February of 2025, where he is helping to develop a mechanical interface for modular shipboard power electronics under the Office of Naval Research (ONR) Power Electronic Power Distribution System (PEPDS) project. In his current role, he primarily focuses on mechanical design and thermal analysis, but his other engineering interests lie in robotics, navigation and transportation, and manufacturing.
Prior to MIT Sea Grant, Jacob has worked at AcousticaBio providing electromechanical design for an acoustic printer and at CHA Consulting as a mechanical system designer for commercial buildings and recreational aquatics. In his free time, you can find him exploring Boston via bike, reading, making music, or hiking up another high peak.
