FY2024-2026 MIT SEA GRANT CORE RFP
MIT Sea Grant provides competitive funding opportunities through our Core Request For Proposals (RFP) for Massachusetts research scientists who seek to address marine issues in ways that benefit the Commonwealth. MIT Sea Grant anticipates the next Core RFP to open January 2025.
MIT Sea Grant has increased our Core RFP funding this year, welcoming proposals up to $170,000 annually, for a total of $340,000 over a two-year period. A 50% non-federal match will be required.
MIT Sea Grant will focus FY2024 funding resources on the following areas of research:
Coastal and/or offshore aquaculture
Ocean acidification
Mitigating marine debris
Biotechnology for ocean sustainability
Technology for observation, underwater manipulation, and fisheries management
An Informational Open House was held on December 1, 2022 to review 2024 Core RFP topics and provide guidance for interested applicants (view meeting slides – Note: Slide 3 should state, “Research scientists from MA academic, research, and educational institutions who are eligible for PI status at home institution).
IMPORTANT DATES & DETAILS
MIT Sea Grant anticipates the next Core RFP to open January 2025.
Eligibility: All researchers from academic, research and educational institutions (e.g., museums) within the state of Massachusetts who are eligible to submit a proposal according to his/her home institution may apply.
Requested Funding: Budget requests may not exceed $170,000 annually, for a total of $340,000 over a two-year period. A 50% non-federal match is required.
Submitting: Submittals are through eSeaGrant, our online proposal system.
