Hurricane Planning Workshop

MIT Sea Grant and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency will be hosting a hurricane planning workshop on November 9 & 10, 2015 at the NOAA Greater Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office in Gloucester, MA. This two-day performance-level course will provide professionals with the training necessary to integrate resilient community planning and building design strategies with civic and commercial projects located in hurricane-prone areas. In addition to discussing existing regulations, this course will feature best practices that may increase community shelter capacity while addressing design concerns such as sustainability, accessibility, architectural aesthetics, and regional culture.
