Charles River Alliance of Boaters (CRAB) and MIT Sea Grant College Program teamed-up to create a chart of the river depth between the Charles River Dam and the Watertown Dam, and to monitor changes in the river bottom in the future. The map includes layers for current depth and surface features, as well as interactive historical layers.
The MIT Sea Grant College Program is working in partnership with the Massachusetts Bays National Estuary Program (MassBays) to develop bathymetric and habitat maps of river herring spawning lakes and ponds in Massachusetts.
Scientists, engineers, and students at MIT Sea Grant College Program teamed-up with local volunteers to perform in situ studies of various eelgrass environments throughout coastal Massachusetts, as part of a larger study in coastal carbon cycling. This map presents the geospatial distribution of eelgrass coverage and height, along with underwater photos taken at select locations at each study site.
