Small-scale aquaculture holds promise for the entrepreneur as well as the backyard gardener. The enterprise may also thrive in an institutional environment. This article describes an ecologically sound approach that blends aquaculture with horticulture in a low-cost, easily managed system. An unusual setting, a prison in Massachusetts, highlights the project's educational advantages.
