MIT Sea Grant College Program supplied kits for assembling sea perch vehicles for an academic enrichment program. The Student Program for Innovation in Science and Engineering (SPISE) is an intensive four-week enrichment residential summer program for promising Caribbean high-school students who are interested in studying and exploring careers in science and engineering at the UWI Cave Hill Campus in St. Michael, Barbados. The goal is to help address the low numbers of Caribbean students pursuing advanced degrees in science and engineering. See how these students enjoyed exploring ocean engineering and learn more about STEM priorities in an interview with Cardinal Warde, Interim Executive Director of the Caribbean Science Foundation and Professor of Electrical Engineering at MIT.
