Stable Isotope Ecology IAP course open for registration

Ever wonder how energy moves through a system or how food webs are
modeled? Well, now’s your chance!

2016 IAP Course 2.S972
Introduction to Stable Isotope Ecology
Monday and Wednesday 1-3pm
January 4 – 20, 2016

This course will provide an overview for the use of stable isotopes in ecological assessments:
- Examine how isotopes of multiple elements and mixing models are used to assess trophic
transfer and construct food webs
- Prepare samples and visit an isotope lab where students will interact with researchers and see
how a stable isotope processing lab works
- Use descriptive statistics and mixing models to analyze data and allow students to interpret the
results of their sample runs

12 students max, please email to pre-register
