Research Focus
Luca's primary interest is the application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools to solve the problem of ship motion especially applied to high speed hulls. The final goal is to add sea keeping as a matter of optimization for particular hull geometries, developing a method capable of including the viscous effect of fluid. The goal of his doctoral thesis is to implement Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes Equations (RANSE) solver using open source libraries.
