Anna Schuleit: Interítidal
"" ""

Anna Schuleit is a painter and installation artist whose inspired, site-specific work breathes new life into historic structures, forests, and seas. Employing such ephemeral elements as choral pieces and rivers of flowers, her powerful public works are designed to endure not as objects, but as vivid memories for those who experience them. For a commission by the Institute of Contemporary Art, Schuleit conceived of Inter'tidal, an ambitious installation on Lovells Island in Boston Harbor, using large-scale mirrors. That concept was portrayed in a 20' yurt on the island, and will one day, Schuleit hopes, find shape in the harbor.

Schuleitís many awards include fellowships from the MacArthur Foundation and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies. She has also been a frequent artist-in-residence and guest lecturer at institutions such as MIT, Harvard, Bowdoin, Brown and RISD.
